Choosing a Casino Bonus
All of the great USA online casinos we feature here offer some form of welcome bonus to new customers, and there are many other online casinos around who also offer bonuses to newcomers. However, with so many bonuses to choose from, how do you go about picking the best bonus for you?
Well, first of all we should point out that picking a casino simply based on the bonus alone isn’t a great idea. It is more important that a particular casino can be trusted, that they will handle your withdrawals and deposits safely and smoothly (and quickly) and that they have a range of exciting – not to mention fair and reliable – games. We’ve personally played at all the casinos we feature and we can assure you they all pass this test, so for many players the bonus is probably the next most important thing.
Size Isn’t Everything
When it comes to casino bonuses and welcome offers, size most definitely isn’t everything. That said, as with most things, size does matter! The headline maximum rate of the bonus is important, especially for the high-rollers, but just because a bonus is $5,000, $10,000 or even unlimited, doesn’t mean it’s a great bonus.
As well as the size of the bonus itself, it’s equally important to consider the percentage rate of the offer. For example, for almost everyone, a 300% bonus worth up to $2,000 is better than a 100% bonus of up to $3,000.
Wagering
Every single USA-friendly online casino that gives a bonus will stipulate a certain level of wagering must be completed before the bonus and/or winnings can be withdrawn. This is usually specified as the deposit plus bonus combined multiplied by an amount. Some bonuses may have wagering that is only the bonus, for example the bonus x 20, which is clearly better than the deposit plus the bonus x 20.
Ultimately the lower the overall wagering required in relation to the bonus the better and this is why a higher percentage bonus is better too – because the total wagering will also be reduced.
Games
Many bonuses are only valid for certain games or only wagering on such games counts towards the wagering. Equally, whilst some bonuses may allow all games, usually only slots count at 100%, with some games, such as roulette, blackjack or video poker, counting at greatly reduced rates, sometimes just 10% or even lower.
